This is the last week of school! I will send a message at the end of the week with information about report cards and other summer details.

May 26 Half-Day Schedule from 9 AM to 12 PM. 

Graduation will be at the Siegel Center at VCU 5/26 at 2:30 PM. Watch LIVE here

Chromebook Collection will be on May 28 and May 29. Students who do not return their Chromebooks will get a letter about replacement costs. 

Huguenot High School Field Day is this Thursday, May 28th! We are celebrating all students who passed their Standards of Learning (SOLs) and Performance-Based Assessments (PBAs), WorkKeys, and have excellent attendance! Parents, please fill out the permission form so your student can join in the fun! Participation Form (Eligible students will receive wristbands on the day of the event.)

Families! Graduation is just around the corner!  Seniors, make sure to continue to check in on the Senior Canvas page!  Underclassmen, you must continue to attend school and class each day until the end of the school year.  Instruction is not over.  Underclassmen who are not going to class will continue to be held to progressive discipline. We look forward to a positive, safe, and strong end to the school year over the next couple of weeks. 

Last Day for Seniors
The last day for our 12th-grade students is Tuesday, May 19. 
Seniors who are eligible and participating in graduation on May 26:
* Hand in your Chromebook on Monday and Tuesday at the media center. 
* Graduation practice is on Wednesday, May 20, at 10 am sharp.

Testing 
Huguenot High School will continue testing this week. 

The 2026 Family Engagement Survey is now open. Families who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing to win a new iPhone.

Monday, May 25, is a student and staff holiday (Memorial Day) 
Tuesday, May 26, is a half-day for Huguenot High School 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students due to our afternoon graduation.

Critical Reminders

• Graduation Rehearsals: Attendance is mandatory for both dates.

• Graduation Tickets: You will receive your graduation tickets on May 20 at the conclusion of the final rehearsal.

• Field Trip: For those attending the Busch Gardens trip on May 15, please be prompt and meet in the auditorium at 10:30 AM for check-in and departure.

This week has three major events: SOL Block Testing, Rising 9th Grade Night, and Teacher Appreciation Week. 

SOL TESTING: This week, all day. 

Open House for Students Entering 9th Grade  All 8th graders (also called rising 9th graders) who will attend Huguenot High School for the 2026-2027 school year are invited to the Huguenot High School Rising Falcons Open House. It will be on May 7 from 5 to 7 PM at Huguenot High School.

Student Drop-Off/Pickup Traffic Change All pickups and drop-offs in the morning and afternoon must happen in our special line. This line is the second left turn off Coleman Road.

Test Preparation and Seat Hours You can now get tutoring and prepare for tests online. This also counts as seat time for students who need it. Tutoring is not only in person after school. Please click this document to see the specific times, places, and links for tutoring in each subject.

This year's Prom, called Arabian Nights, is tonight! Friday, April 17, 2026 starting at 7:00 PM at Four Points by Sheraton Richmond: 9901 Midlothian Turnpike.

Synchronous Learning Day, April 21
Students will not come to school on April 21 but will have a synchronous day, meaning they are to log into each of their class ​Google Meets on a reduced schedule. Students should bring home their Chromebooks and chargers the evening of Monday, April 20, and follow the posted schedule. Teachers' Google Meets will be posted in their Canvas accounts and/or ​communicated over ​ParentSquare. Students must attend their classes with their cameras on.

Test Preparation

Pass Restriction/Smart Pass Trial

1. Immediate Action: Teachers will set limits on how many passes students can use for classes. This will happen if a student has many absences, uses too many passes, or is often late. 

2. Long Term: Some teachers and hallways at Huguenot will test a SmartPass system for students. We will start using this system next school year. Your students' teachers will contact you if there is a problem with attendance.

Students who need Flexible Instruction Time (FIT) to make up for missed days can stay after school for HSS Academy. This program runs Monday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Transportation is available.

Important Reminder (Testing Rules) Students cannot wear any head coverings during tests. They also cannot have any devices that can communicate or are smart devices with them while testing.

Dress Code: Please review the dress code with your child. A student's clothing and appearance should not be indecent or create health or safety problems in the school.

Students may only have a clear book bag at Richmond Public Schools. Students with bags that are not clear will have their bags taken away. 

Students who leave the technical center and return to school on their own cannot bring outside food into the building when they come back.

Cell phones and headphones must be turned off and put away from the start to the end of the day(from bell to bell). 

Outside Devices (Computers/Tablets) ae not allowed at chool

Huguenot Families, 
Even though Spring Break is almost here, it is extremely important for the sake of seat time/attendance that every student continues to attend school EVERY DAY this week.

Writing SOL testing schedule:

Monday/Tuesday - 11th grade make-up day 

Tuesday 10th graders - Part 1 (multiple choice) 

Wednesday Part 2 (short paper/ essay) for 10th graders

Thursday 10th-grade makeup day

March 26- Caregiver/Parent Conferences will take place on March 26 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Teachers will be in the building to meet in person; however, you can also schedule a virtual meeting during this window. 
Report Cards Mailed Home Friday. Grades should be visible on Aspen by Thursday night, when Parent/Caregiver conferences take place.

Students in need of Flexible Instruction Time (FIT) to recover absences can stay after school for HSS Academy Mon-Thurs, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Students should report to the cafeteria at dismissal, then go to one of the classrooms for tutoring. Transportation is provided.

Junior Senior Prom: Tickets for the 2026 Huguenot High School Junior/Senior Prom, Arabian Nights, are now available through GoFan. Prom will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Four Points by Sheraton Richmond (9901 Midlothian Turnpike). Tickets can be purchased using the following link: https://gofan.co/event/6225940?schoolId=VA7805. Each student’s Student ID number will serve as the access code to purchase their ticket.

Students planning to bring a guest must first submit a guest form for approval by their grade-level administrator or Dr. Massa. Once approved, the student will receive a separate access code to purchase the guest ticket.

Dress Code: Please make sure you review the dress code with your child. 

Clear Backpacks: Students may only have a clear book bag when attending Richmond Public Schools.  Students without clear bags will have their opaque bags confiscated.

Outside Food or Drink: Reminder that students may not bring outside food or drink into the school 

Cell Phones: Cell phones and headphones must be off and away from the beginning to the end of the day (bell to bell). 

Outside Devices: Reminder that iPads, computers, and tablets/devices other than Chromebooks are not allowed at school.
