Flexible Instructional Time/ After School Tutoring
Support is available after school for students in many classes and content areas. Students can stay after school to receive help from staff members for multiple reasons including test preparation, test remediation, tutoring, accruing seat time through flexible instructional time, etc. Students need to do the following to sign up to stay after school.
- Students can sign up for direct and content focused after school academic support in classrooms by filling out THIS FORM, (save this link)
OR
- Students can attend HHS Academy after school which is an enrichment and support program that offers some tutoring and and enrichmond activities. For this program students simply enter the cafeteria to show up directly after school.
Staying after school is a privilege. Students must be in assigned areas at all times.
Attendance Raffle
Students who are present at school everyday from January 15, to January 23 are eligible for a raffle for fun and potentially big prizes! Make sure to continue to come to school everyday.
Important Cell Phone Update
All students are required to put their phones in the numbered sleeves in classrooms during class. All students are expected to enter class and put their phones in sleeves. Students will no longer be permitted to have them “away” in class and instead, upon entering the classroom, students must put their phones in the sleeves that are in each classroom.
- Cell phone usage is not permitted in public schools across the Commonwealth of Virginia per the governor’s executive order.
- Cell phone usage is not permitted once students enter the building at the beginning of the school day, until the end of the school day. Click HERE for Huguenot progressive actions for cell phone usage.
- Cell phones must be off and away during the school day.
- When students enter each class, they must place their cell phones in the numbered sleeves hanging on the wall of each classroom.
- Students caught with their cell phones out during the day may have their cell phones confiscated until the end of the day by the administration.
- Tablets, Beats, headphones, AirPods, smart watches, and other electronic devices that have wifi/internet/Bluetooth capability are prohibited and may be confiscated.
- Cell phones are not required for school, and students bring them to school at their own risk.
- If you need to leave your student a message or communicate with your student, please reach out to the main office or your student’s administrator.
- Students can call their caregiver from a school office phone with permission from their administrator or Dean of Students.
