This week: May 4-9, 2026

Good evening Huguenot families,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend.  This week has three major events: SOL Block Testing, Rising 9th Grade Night, and Teacher Appreciation Week.  I can't put into words how much I appreciate our teachers.  The recent success of Huguenot High School is due to our teachers' hard work, dedication, and professional knowledge and instruction. Huguenot High School and our community partners (Horace Mann, Bon Air Baptist, and Life Church) will be celebrating our teachers each day this week with a different treat.  If you have a moment, please share a kind word or appreciation with your students' teachers.

SOL TESTING

This week, we will be testing in each block:
That means that tomorrow, Monday, May 4, we will be testing in 1st block classes.  We currently do not have loaner Chromebooks in inventory, so STUDENTS MUST BRING A CHARGED CHROMEBOOK AND CHARGER TO TEST.

The testing environment must be conducive to testing.  Students who are not in their assigned classes, or are in halls or bathrooms, will be subject to progressive discipline, which may include suspension from school.

Open House for Students Entering 9th Grade

Attention students who will be in 9th grade and live in the Huguenot High School area. All 8th graders (also called rising 9th graders) who will attend Huguenot High School for the 2026-2027 school year are invited to the Huguenot High School Rising Falcons Open House. It will be on May 7 from 5 to 7 PM at Huguenot High School.
The event will include:

  • Student Performances
  • Counselors will talk about classes and graduation requirements.
  • The administration will talk about high school expectations.
  • The Student Cooperative Association (SCA) and Corazon Latino clubs will lead school tours.
  • You can take free tours of the building. Staff from different departments, clubs, and programs will be there to answer your questions.

We hope to see you at Huguenot High School on May 7 from 5 PM to 7 PM.

More information for 12th graders is shared on the Senior CANVAS and ParentSquare.

Student Drop-Off/Pickup Traffic Change
To support student and traffic safety, and based on feedback from our community, the staff parking lot at the top of Huguenot's campus is now blocked with cones. All pickups and drop-offs in the morning and afternoon must happen in our special line. This line is the second left turn off Coleman Road.

Faculty and visitors who park in the top visitor lot can still leave the lot by exiting onto Coleman Road. They should not use the pickup line that goes directly onto Forest Hill.

Test Preparation and Seat Hours
You can now get tutoring and prepare for tests online. This also counts as seat time for students who need it. Tutoring is not only in person after school. Please click this document to see the specific times, places, and links for tutoring in each subject. We will add more tutoring times when they are available. We also suggest that students ask their teachers about tutoring times they or other teachers might offer in specific areas.***Students must have their Chromebook cameras on and their faces visible during tutoring. If not, they will be removed from the sessions.
