This week: May 5-10, 2025

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We have lots of planned treats for our teachers this week; however, no gift can adequately show our appreciation for our teachers. Teachers are the lifeblood of our communities. They work tirelessly to engage, educate, and support the students in our community. Teachers invest in your children everyday, often times, at the expense of time they could spend with their own families or children. Teachers put in the time and effort, whether it’s tutoring after school, coaching, hours spent during their off hours planning for classes, and then volunteering to support the many student support and engagement activities that we hold here at the school. Our teacher’s hard work has been paying off here at Huguenot High School as they have worked hard to raise our test score signficanlty, improve our graduation rate, and reduce chronic absenteeism from where it was several year ago. While that data is exceptional, the most important success from our faculty of amazing teachers, has been the continuing change of culture at HHS. Huguenot Falcons have reported feeling safer, more supported, and more likely to come to school. Our discipline numbers continue to drop substantially, as a result of the supports, and relationships our teachers provide our students. Teachers are making great things happen here at Huguenot High School. Public education is often a “thankless” job, so we ask that you please, take time this week to send a teacher a special message of gratitude. Our teachers are educators, nurturers, listeners, supporters, allies, and heroes. THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING STAFF.
Here are announcements:

**Senior Awards This Friday**
Seniors, we are celebrating your many accomplishments this Friday. We have sent REMIND messages specifically to 12th grade families and have updated the Senior Google Classroom with information concerning Senior Awards. Please make sure to encourage your visitors to pre-register to cut down on time singing in when going through security. Please also make sure that you are adhering to the dress code information for the awards ceremony that we shared. It would be ashame if you have family come to celebrat you, and you are not able to walk on stage and accept your award!

Have a great evening,
Dr. Mike Massa,
Principal, Huguenot High School
