Happening at Huguenot

Huguenot High School Families,
I hope our students are rested and ready to return to school tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6. Here are some updates from Huguenot High School:
**Graduation**
As communicated in the most recent RPS Direct, Huguenot High School Graduation will take place Thursday, May 30, at 12PM, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Seniors, please make sure to follow the Senior Google Classroom for important end of school year and graduation information.
**March 13 Curriculum Fair**
From 6-8PM on March 13 Huguenot High School will hold a curriculum fair for rising 9th graders, 10th graders, and 11th graders. The fair will feature live performances, graduation requirements, the ACE monthly meeting for families of English Learners, and tables set up to feature classes and programs available to our students. More information will be coming through REMIND.
**Prom**
Juniors and Seniors, please see the attached prom fliers. Juniors and Seniors must use their student ID numbers which are good for one ticket. If a Junior or Senior is planning to bring a guest from another school they must complete the guest form and have it approved by their grade-level admin or principal in addition to being signed by administration from the guest’s school. Once completed students will receive another access code for the guest ticket. Forms are on the door of our activities director as well as the electronic copy that is attached to this message. Fliers are also posted around the building.

Graduation is Thursday, May 30, 2024, at noon

at the GREATER RICHMOND CONVENTION CENTER

403 N 3rd St, Richmond, VA 23219

12 p.m. - Huguenot High School

please arrive on time!

Huguenot High School Families,
I hope you had a safe and relaxing spring break. I am writing to ask for your help in making sure we have a successful and safe end of the school year. Please speak with your students to ensure they are ready to come to school on time, ready to learn, and without any distractions. If your student needs additional academic support, there is extended day instruction for students in many core content classes (English, Math, Science, History) after school and on Saturday mornings. Let’s work together to reach our goals and celebrate a successful end of the year at Huguenot High School!

**Schedule For This Week**
Monday, April 8, the school day will end 10 minutes later at 4:10 PM out of an abundance of caution due to the solar eclipse. Buses will begin leaving at approximately 4:20 pm.
Wednesday, April 10 all RPS schools will be closed in observance of Eid-al-Fitr.
**Graduation Information Letters For Seniors Coming Soon**
We will be sending out an electronic graduation update letter later this week for seniors. These letters will also be mailed. Please remember that Huguenot High School will hold graduation on May 30, 2024, at noon at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Seniors also need to continue to follow the Senior Class Google Classroom for end-of-year updates. Please reach out to your counselors (Scott, Buist, or Harrison) with any questions you may have. We will continue to share updates as we receive them.
**Students Staying For After School Programs**
If your student is not staying after school for sports practice, HHS Academy, extended day support with teachers, or a club or organization, they must be off campus after dismissal. Additionally, during the spring sports season, all RPS event rules are still in place including the need for an adult to be present for all students under 18 years of age.
**Yondr Pouch Reminder**
We are continuing the Yondr Pouch pilot until the end of the school year. Please continue to remind your students to bring their pouches to school every day as doing so is mandatory. Students may not bring iPads or computers to school other than their assigned Chromebooks. We will be conducting random classroom checks for pouches during the closing weeks of the school year. Students who have phones without pouches will have their devices confiscated until the end of the day. Pouches that are purposefully damaged will be replaced as needed with a $25 dollar payment form will be sent home with the student.

** Thank You to Our PTSA**
Over the break, our PTSA helped beautify our school grounds by planting flowers, creating mulch beds, and removing some fledgling pine trees that were growing in the middle of our hedges. Thank you so much to our awesome PTA for their support. Please remember to follow the PTSA on Instagram @huguenot_high_school_ptsa to find out more information about upcoming events and how you can get involved!
